Adam Tensta Goes Worldwide
When you think about Sweden, Hip Hop isn't one of the first things that comes to mind. Adam Tensta aims to change that with the release of two extremely infectious singles that are both getting tons of plays on both MySpace and YouTube. Tensta may be Swedish, but he raps in English making his music accessible to fans in both Europe and the States.Adam arrived on the scene by dropping the groove-laden They Wanna Know, a tune that helps explain what the Swedish MC is all about. From the heavy beat to Tensta's Kanye-esque delivery to the song's flashy video it's no surprise that They Wanna Know is getting spun at clubs worldwide.
My Cool, Tensta's latest single, picks up where They Wanna Know left off, with a killer beat that is equal parts Beck and The Neptunes. You just gotta love the electro-vibe of this incredible track. We also like that Adam focuses his polished raps on the positives in the world.
The artist born into the world as Adam Momodou Eriksson Taal, borrowed his stage name from the name of the Stockholm suburb where he grew up. Look for his new album, It's A Tensta Thing, to hit stores soon. Trust us, it won't be long before this Swedish export makes his mark in this country. Jay-Z is The Cash King of Hip-Hop
According to Forbes:Shawn Carter, is No. 1 on the site's list of "Hip-Hop Cash Kings," based solely on 2006 income. He banked an estimated $34 million, Forbes.com said Thursday.
Jay-Z, president and CEO of Def Jam Recordings, released his 11th studio album, "Kingdom Come," which sold around 2 million copies. Jay-Z, 37, is also part owner of the New Jersey Nets and has endorsement deals with Budweiser, Hewlett-Packard and General Motors.
Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson ranks second with an estimated $32 million. The 31-year-old rapper-businessman oversees his G-Unit record label, clothing line, ring tones and other enterprises, and has sold more than 11 million albums. His latest record, "Curtis," is due out Sept. 11.
Diddy (real name: Sean Combs) placed third with an estimated $28 million. A fashion plate, he has a clothing line, Sean John, and heads Bad Boy Worldwide Entertainment and its record label. Diddy, 37, is also host of MTV's "Making the Band" series.

i-Playaz Interactive Hip-Hop Toy
Who is the best-known hip-hop artist in the fictional land of Chub City? Chub C of course. At least that's what it says on the box. Just don't tell Hype. He's the white version of Chub C (a la Eminem). What the hell am I talking about? That's a good question.Both Chub C (black) and Hype (white) are interactive toy characters called i-Playaz from a company called Jada Toys. i-Playaz connect to any music source including your iPod, CD player, computer or even an old school Sony Walkman. Just plug in an i-Playaz character and play some music. The i-Playaz characters will then dance to the beat and even play your music through a built-in speaker in their heads. There's also an audio output if you want to connect better speakers to your i-Playaz character.
When I first got Hype in the mail, I was already on my way out and brought the box along with me to a bar down the street. I figured I'd just test him out for this review when I got home. But while I was waiting for some friends to show up, the people at the bar kept asking me what was in the box. I was curious to see what my i-Playaz could do anyway so I took Hype out of his box and set him up on the bar. With his sideways hat and flashy bling, it's no wonder that everyone at the bar started calling him K-Fed, after Britney Spears wannabe hip-hop ex-husband. If you know someone who is trying to pull off the K-Fed white hip-hop thing, Hype will bring you and your friends hours of entertainment.
