Working out on the couch used to serve as one of those crappy cliché excuses for just being a couch potato. However, fitness equipment mega-company Life Fitness has done something about that by developing a couch that actually converts to a home gym in a matter of minutes. The Otto-Bench is a combination of a multi-adjustable bench, bench press, and free weight storage space that, once converted and decorated with a couple pillows, looks just like a regular leather living room couch.


Designer Gabriel Prero is the hand behind the Otto-Bench, the winner of a Life Fitness competition challenging independent designers to come up with the perfect urban fitness machine. Prero’s Otto-Bench is actually a pretty genius invention, especially if you’ve got a tiny place or don’t have the spare bucks for a monthly gym membership. Running outside is free, but getting a quality lift session in isn’t always as easy. Bachelors everywhere will be clamoring for this soon enough.

Hiding your valuables behind a fake set of books or in a pillowcase under your mattress is played and cliché. We don't usually think of champagne storage towers as works of art, but Porsche Design aims to change that with the introduction of the Veuve Clicquot Vertical Limit. The world famous design studio has teamed up with the legendary Champagne maker to create the most gorgeous champagne storage tower imaginable. Only 15 pieces will be made worldwide, and only two will make it stateside. Vertical Limit measures over six feet tall, and holds up to 12 magnums at a constant temperature of 12 degrees Celsius.

The stylish towers won't come cheap. Each storage unit will cost approximately $70,000. Vertical Limit combines a stylish design with a functional refrigeration unit that will keep your champagne at the ideal temperature. Every bottle gets its own door coupled with a distinctive yellow light reminiscent of the Veuve Clicquot label. All 15 pieces were fully handmade by the stainless steel specialists at Porsche Design.

Veuve Clicquot was founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot-Murion. The Veuve Clicquot vineyards and cellars are located in Reims, France, and the Vertical Limit unit houses the beverages at the same temperature as the Veuve Clicquot cellars. You won't even have to source the champagne maker's most prized vintages, as 12 of the most sought after bottles of Veuve Clicquot are included in the purchase prize.

Napoleon had a sword which was then given to his brother by him as a wedding gift way back in 1805 and after him was another unidentified owner who has taken this historically important sword home. Apart from it being a memorable part of Napoleons life and personal memories it can also be a great collect for art connoisseurs and I’m sure the buyer is pretty pleased with his latest purchase even if it came with a price tag of $6.4 million

The sword was actually carried by Napoleon before he was emperor into the Battle of Marengo back in June of 1800. What makes this sword even more special is that it’s declared a national treasure and if ever a foreign buyer happens to buy this then it has to remain in France for at least five months out of the year. Obviously France will be missing its national treasure a tad too much so its home coming for at least a few months. It’s really tough to part with the real beautiful things in life.

John Schneider learned his lesson: Sell only to pre-screened bidders.

Schneider, who played blond heartthrob Bo Duke in the '80s TV series, said the winner's account on the eBay auction Web site was hacked as a joke, so he wasn't the one bringing up the bid for a version of the iconic 1969 Dodge Charger. The online auction was held earlier this month.

In a new eBay Inc. auction set to begin Saturday, the orange coupe with "01" on the doors will be listed to bidders who must prove upfront that they can pay, the 47-year-old actor told AP Radio News."

Yet another affordable and very compelling new water vessel has reached market. With a price in the region of an expensive sports car, the appropriately named Dutch company Uboatworx has begun producing the first affordable recreational submarine (U-Boat). Uboatworx currently builds a single seat version known as the C-Quester I with a two-seater due in June. Both C-Questers have a top speed of 3.5 mph, are safe to a depth of 50 metres and offer a dive time of 150 minutes. At just over 9 feet long, 6 feet tall and wide and weighing 1.1 tons, the submarine is small enough to trailer to the nearest boat ramp or launch from a yacht. Entry is jet fighter style through a canopy, steering is via a joystick and both the seating position and the experience are apparently quite similar to flight, though getting a license is much cheaper and less time-consuming than a pilot’s license - a three day course and an exam being the only obstacles, apart from the UKP65,000 price tag (more for the two-seater).

The cabin is pressurized, a filtration system removes spent air, oxygen is added to maintain air quality and all the safety boxes appear ticked, so the C-Quester appears an out-of-the-box winner at such an affordable price. Motive force is supplied by three electric motors – so it’s a genuine plug-in electric boat which just happens to be able to operate below the surface too.

Now before we start getting lots of correspondence, the term U-Boat is derived from the German Unterseeboot (undersea boat). Though the term U-boat in English-language usage refers exclusively to German naval submarines, in German the term U-Boot refers to any submarine.
