The band Weezer posted their new music video called "Pork and Beans" on YouTube. The video features a huge collection of "internet stars" from Tay "Chocolate Rain" Zonday to Chris "Leave Britney Alone" Crocker. Weezer even plays in front of a huge deluge tribute to "Coke + Mentos".



Weezer's new self-titled "Red Album" comes out June 3rd, 2008.

Here's a post from MethodShop.com about iPhone lines outside the Apple Store:

"This morning I had to go buy another copy of OS X Leopard (my original copy got scratched). As I walked closer to the Apple Store on 5th Avenue I was somewhat surprised to see a line of about 50 people waiting in line. The 3G iPhone announcement isn't rumored to happen until June 9th right? Are these people going to wait in line for over 2 weeks or do they know something we don't?

I asked the security guard by the Cube what was going on and he said it was for the iPhone. That's all he knew and he very was annoyed at me for asking him about the iPhone line. I'm doubt I was the first person to ask.

Still confused I walked downstairs and bought my copy of Leopard. Before I left the Apple Store, I asked Jessica, my cashier, if the people outside were waiting for the new 3G iPhone. She cryptically said "They are waiting to buy an iPhone. We will sell them whatever phones we have in stock." She was kind of pissed off too.



For some reason the majority of people waiting in line were Chinese. I was later informed by a friend that to get around iPhone quantity restrictions (one one per person), you can pay people (usually from Chinatown I guess) to buy you extra iPhones and even hold your place in line.

I wonder how many of these people will still be in line on June 9th."

When people talk about organized crime the picture that most likely comes to their head is off an Italian Mafioso. Well, the Italians weren't the only ones to organize themselves for evil deeds. Tong, a Chinese secret society, was originally started out as a means of protection for Chinese-Americans, but quickly turned to lucrative criminal activities.

Unlike the mob, Tongs exist openly and are based chiefly on business affiliations. Most Tongs operate out of New York City, with branches in Philadelphia and other major cities where there are large Asian populations. The big three Tongs (Hip Sing Tong, the Tung On Association, and the On Leong Merchants Association) make most of their money from illegal gambling operations run out of their headquarters. But they've also been known to get involved in selling drugs, extortion and people smuggling.

The Tongs also operate hand-in-hand with street gangs that do all of the dirty work for them. As Chinatown has become a major tourist attraction The Tongs have become less willing to see a decline in their revenues from bloodshed and violence. What's amazing is the lack of police action against these organizations. Hundreds of years after the first Tongs were formed in the late 19th century the major Tongs are still going strong.

According to Gizmodo, Apple is set to unveil the 3G iPhone on June 9 at the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco.

Here's an excerpt from the Gizmodo post:

"We all suspected it, but now it is confirmed: someone very, very close to the 3G iPhone launch has told me [Gizmodo’s Jesus Diaz] that Apple will announce their new model at the WWDC Keynote on June 9th. The second-generation iPhone will be available worldwide right after the launch, and not at year’s end, as previously thought. The new model will also herald new sales policies in some countries.

In Spain, for example, the 3G iPhone will be available for sale at the June 18th grand opening of Telefonica’s megastore—an Apple Store-like shop located in the company’s historical building in Madrid’s Gran Vía— with nationwide availability the next day or after a few hours. The other European countries with iPhone availability will have similar launch schedules."

The 3G iPhone will also supposedly do away with fixed-price iPhones. Apple will be adopting a more traditional subsidized pricing model. This means that certain carriers can offer discounts and subsidies on the Apple handset. This also means that large companies will probably be able to purchase iPhones in bulk and offer them as part of their companies internal wireless plans.


What will this new 3G iPhone look like? Rumors say it might come in multiple colors including black (see a mockup above). There's no doubt that a black 3G iPhone would be extremely popular.

Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, first promised a 3G iPhone at a London press conference in September 2007. Sine then, it's been a guessing game trying to figure out when the 3G iPhone would be released. In April, hackers found a 3G toggle switch in the iPhone's 2.0 beta firmware hinting that a 3G iPhone release was imminent.

Still doubt that the 3G iPhone is coming soon?

This settings screen with a 3G toggle switch (see image) was found in the latest beta release of the iPhone's 2.0 firmware.



Why would you want to turn off 3G? Because 3G drains cell phone batteries very quickly. In this screenshot, Apple has included a toggle setting to turn 3G off, and use AT&T's slower but more battery friendly EDGE network instead. Probably a very useful feature if you are almost out of juice.

Do you live in the most gluttonous city in America, or the most vain? Recently, Forbes ranked which cities have succumb to each of the seven deadly sins. Greed, envy, gluttony, lust, sloth, pride and wrath, not one was left out. For each sin the top ten cities are ranked based on statistics, and many of the results are quite surprising.

So which city is the most money hungry? If you guessed Los Angeles, you're a bit off, the city only came in at #6. But just up North, it's San Jose that takes the #1 spot with billionaire residents like Steve Jobs, and San Francisco took second. These two cities also took the second and third spots for pride, but surprisingly it's Salt Lake City, Utah that takes the top prize for this sin. If you're looking for a plastic surgeon, this is the place to be; the city has a whopping six cosmetic surgeons per 100k people. And when it comes to envy, the green eyed monster seems to be rooted in the south. Memphis, Tennessee was ranked #1 for high rates of burglary, auto theft, and theft all around.


A few cities you might want to avoid are Detroit, Baltimore and New Orleans, which rank #1 through #3 under wrath, meaning you better watch your back or you might just get shot. And if you're looking to be productive, once again, scratch Memphis off the list; they were rated the #1 city for sloth as well as gluttony, followed closely by New Orleans and Las Vegas Nevada. And as random as it may seem, Denver, Colorado is the #1 most lustful city, but at least it's residents are practicing safe sex; the city was ranked high for it's per capita contraceptives.


So there you have it, a basic map of the US showing you where to avoid the wrath and pride of others. Or perhaps when it comes to lust and greed, you just might not be able to stay away.

Malibu's Carbon Beach, it's an area where the rich and famous live and play, while everyone else just dreams about it. Hey, it isn't nicknamed billionaires' beach for no reason! If forking over $100,000 to rent one of the nearby mansions seems a bit steep, there's a newly renovated Malibu Beach Inn, and you can think Hollywood mogul David Geffen for spending $10 million to make this place look brand spankin' new.

Staying at the Malibu Beach Inn will put you beach front, with a gorgeous view of the ocean and possibly the Malibu Pier, depending where the room is situated. The rooms may not be huge, but they are comfy and the beachy atmosphere is played up in the decor of the room, and a gas fireplace. There might not be a tub in the bathroom, but guests are treated to designer bath robes.

When you're feeling hungry, there's the Carbon Beach Club, a restaurant exclusively for hotel guests. The restaurant is serving up fresh California cuisine daily, which you can enjoy on a beach front terrace, or indoors but who wants that when you can have the sand in your feet? Or room service can quickly send up an entree of your choice. The Inn might be lacking a few amenities by the way of a fitness center or a pool, but each room is loaded with useful equipment, such as a 32" plasma tv and an ipod equipped clock radio. Wifi is also available in the lobby and terrace.

Of course, relaxing in the sun and taking in the Malibu beauty is going to cost you. We can all live like a millionaire for $675 a night on weekends.
