iPods with Sirius Satellite Radio

According to AppleInsider.com, Apple has a new line of iPod products that may be announced at MacWorld in January. These products are more than "accessories" and are being called iPod Companions.

One of the rumored iPod companion products is a Apple Boombox with a hard drive, streaming capabilities and Sirius Satellite radio.

AppleInsider isn't the only website predicting this major deal. Sirius already has Howard Stern coming in 2006. If Sirius makes a deal with Apple to bring their satellite radio programming to the iPod, their satellite competitor, XM, might as well pack it in.
"[A Sirius iPod] doesn't seem too far fetched considering that there have been negotiations between Apple and Sirius Satellite Radio over the past year."

Pandora.com - Be Your Own DJ

"When was the last time you fell in love with a new artist or song?

At Pandora Media™ (formerly Savage Beast Technologies™), we have a single mission: To help you discover new music you'll love.

To understand just how we do this, and why we think we do it really, really well, you need to know about the Music Genome Project™.

For almost six years now, we have been hard at work on the Music Genome Project. It's the most comprehensive analysis of music ever undertaken. Together our team of thirty musician-analysts have been listening to music, one song at a time, studying and collecting literally hundreds of musical details on every song.

We've now created an interface to make this available to music lovers so they could use this musical 'connective-tissue' to discover new music based on songs or artists they already know.

Pandora™ is the doorway to this vast trove of musical information. With Pandora you can explore to your heart's content. Just drop the name of one of your favorite songs or artists into Pandora and let the Genome Project go. It will quickly scan its entire world of analyzed music, almost a century of popular recordings - new and old, well known and completely obscure - to find songs with interesting musical similarities to your choice. Then sit back and enjoy as it creates a listening experience full of current and soon-to-be favorite songs for you.

You can create as many "stations" as you want. And you can even refine them. If it's not quite right you can tell it more and it will get better for you.

The Music Genome Project was founded by musicians and music-lovers. We believe in the value of music and have a profound respect for those who create it. We like all kinds of music, from the most obtuse bebop, to the most tripped-out drum n bass, to the simplest catchy pop tune. Our mission is to help YOU connect with the music YOU like.

We hope you enjoy the experience! We created Pandora so that we can have that same kind of conversation with you." [Via pandora.com]

CRONOSWISS's "Opus Chrono Skeleton Steel" - $9950 Retail

"Opus, the Latin word for "work," is an apt name for this remarkable Chronoswiss timepiece. Hailed as the first skeletonized automatic chronograph, one voyeuristic look will reveal to you that much work went into the design and creation of the Opus. The skeletonized wonder is the winner of numerous awards, including First Prize "Watch of the the Year 1996" by readers of Armbanduhren ("Wristwatches") and "Watch of the Year 1998" in Japan by World Photo Press magazine.

The Chronoswiss Caliber C.741 S, a modification of Caliber ETA 7750, was handmade using a pantograph (mechanical device used to copy a figure or plan on a different scale) and stencils. These tools allowed for inessential metal to be cut away, thus the entire movement has been skeletonized to the max, allowing you a front seat view of nearly every movement within. Blued Breguet Losange hands move around the gold-plated dial, which displays hour, minute, second, analog date, chrono center second, 30-minute register, and 12-hour register. Wear the fluted steel case and complication on a genuine Louisiana crocodile leather strap.

Crystal: Anti-Reflective Sapphire
Movement: Automatic Mechanical
Warranty: 2-year
Water Resistance: 3 ATM / 30 M / 100 F." [Post Via elighters.com]

The Dominican Republic - No Snow, No Taxes, No Problem!

"The Dominican Republic - No Snow, No Taxes, No Problem: Living A Better Life In The Dominican Republic - - For many, the country of choice is the Dominican Republic. In comparison to other well-known and path worn Caribbean destinations, the Dominican Republic still remains a place where real estate is extremely affordable, and where the US Dollar stills holds it's value in terms of spending power. For the price of broom-closet sized apartment in the Bahamas, you can have a large lovely home in the Dominican Republic, (a real one.) Additionally, in the Dominican Republic, bank accounts and yields from fixed income investments provide up to 10% in US Dollar accounts and up to 22% interest in the Dominican Peso, (the local currency.) Such income is 100% locally tax - free, which means that the possibilty of living off the interest from your savings is a distinct reality .

Generally speaking, the Dominican Republic may not be to everyone's taste, but it does offer many of the things expatriates and investors are looking for. Whether you are looking for locally tax-free banking opportunities, reasonable real estate, local services or activities to keep you busy, the Dominican Republic certainly has these things to offer, and more." Minx On Fire!: Megan Good

"You Know Her From Child-actor gigs such as Eve's Bayou and eye-candy supporting roles in urban-targeted flicks Biker Boyz and Deliver Us From Eva.
The Breakthrough Good, 23, will be ubiquitous in coming months, popping up in the back yard (ensemble laugher The Cookout), the roller rink (Seventies-soul-era-set Roll Bounce) and the Louisiana bayou (screamer Backwater). But first up: Fulfilling fantasies as the leader of a squad of secret-agent schoolgirls in D.E.B.S., which Good gamely describes as "Charlie's Angels meets Austin Powers meets Bring It On."

Good Vs. Evil Good has no problem relating to both the innocents and not-so-innocents who populate her acting resume. "I can be the good girl or bad girl in real life, too," she says. "I'll give someone my last dollar, but insult my family and I can change. Real quick."

Higher Powers "I think the ultimate is to portray a real person's life story instead of a character you just create in your head," Good says of her future ambitions. "I'd also love to work with Mel Gibson. Spirituality is very important to me, and I want to reflect that in my work." [Via rollingstone.com]

why we like her?
Meagan Good's name does not do her justice, not by a long shot. With her sexy body and fine acting skills, Meagan is not good, she's great. This combination puts her high on our list of actresses we'd like to see receive more significant roles in the near future.

why is she famous?
Meagan Good has received critical acclaim for appearing in such films as Eve's Bayou, You Got Served, Biker Boyz, and Deliver Us from Eva. Meagan Good also made headlines for playing 50 Cent's hot lady friend in the rapper's "21 Questions" video.[Via askmen.com]

**Exclusive** "Hot Woman or Hot Job?"

"There is something magical about a profession that can turn not only the frog, but the wart on the frog’s ass, into something remarkable, something desirable. Haven’t you ever caught yourself looking at a woman who in any other circumstance would never have caught your eye, but suddenly with a 9-5 and a w-4 she has something of an edge? There is just something that makes you want to be her boss, or at least hire her for a “job” or two?

Well, you are not alone. Many men find women in certain professions to be sexier because of their job title. And it can be confusing, not knowing if you want to take her to lunch just because of her career role (and your imagination running wild), or if she is just really that damn sexy and you want her even when her shift is up.

The Nurse: You are sitting in a doctor’s office, half dressed, feet dangling from the exam table, waiting for someone to knock and make the appointment at least begin to be over. And suddenly, the door opens, and in walks a fairly cute, curvaceous, dressed in all white nurse, stethoscope in hand, hair pulled back but falling out of her French twist. She asks for your arm to take your blood pressure and as you reach out you accidentally graze her breast, and immediately you know where all your blood has gone. You know deep down that if you passed her on the street you wouldn’t even think about hooking up with her, but suddenly all you want is to give her the exam of her life. The nurse is a tough one, the theory of the hot nurse has been passed on through the ages with Halloween costumes and Blink 182 videos. And well, when you are waiting to be touched and physically checked out, men are relieved to see anyone rather than a male over-weight comb-over wearing doctor walk in that door. So watch out guys. Before you diagnose this one, make sure you see past the gimmick and the girl beneath the sterile ensemble. She may be the fantasy but not the girl.

The Bartender:First and foremost, keep in mind that it is hard to say if you’re making any good calls when you are at the bar after a bunch of beers and rounds of shots. But it is fair to say that bartenders are intoxicating. They are in a position of power. They have what you want and you want it bad, alcohol, the numbing buzz, the bottle in her hand. You watch her lean, bend, grab, and pour, all while holding wads of money (another stimuli for the male species) and sliding past the other sexy bartender to lean, bend, grab some more. And the more she gives you, the more you want her, it, her…it is all a blur of voyeurism and desire, a confusion of the senses. Before you know it you are slumped over in your barstool staring directly and without shame at her ass, trying to find a napkin dry enough so you can write down her number. You should know however, that you are probably man #450 of the night to hit on her and to search for a scrap of paper for the digits. Bartenders attract men like a moth to a flame. And what better analogy than that to express the burning feeling you will experience after you hit that.

The Kindergarten Teacher: Although you probably never see her on the job (or at least I hope you are not hanging around elementary schools), you know what she is like on the job. A tight fitting sweater, casual but nicely fitting slacks, loafers and black framed glasses, sitting Indian style on the floor with 4 year olds reading them stories, acting a bit too excited about 3 little pigs or a girl in a red hood. But she is cute, VERY cute, when you ask her what she does and she tells you she is a Kindergarten teacher. You know that behind her conservative, nurturing demeanor lies a girl who wants to put the kids to sleep and rip off her glasses and play her own game of “duck duck, find the goose.” She is hotter because she knows how to play dress up, likes to get messy, and believe it or not, this teacher wants to be taught a lesson. Just keep in your notes that half her appeal, may be the naughty teacher deal.

The Cop: You hear the sirens, you know you are screwed…the cops are coming and you are busted for whatever crime you have just committed. The blue and white doors open and out steps a blonde, dressed in all blue, gold badge on her seemingly large chest, belt filled with things that immediately get you wanting to bring your crime from a misdemeanor to a felony. Her polyester pants hug her all the way around and as she writes you a ticket, you can’t help but want desperately to see the back of her squad car. Even when she hands you the fine, you can’t stop thinking to yourself, “is this for real” because a hot cop, is hard to find. But check under her cap and take a second to look away from her “badge.” This police officer may be the dream-not-come-true that you always wanted. The outfit can throw you off, the symbols of power and submission on her belt, her authority…think again before you let her cuff you. The crime may not be worth the time.

Take these professions into consideration when asking yourself if she is worthy of your magic, and try to discern between a hot girl, and just a girl with a hot job." [Via PimpWiz.com]

The Black W-Zero3 showcased

"The W-Zero3 is probably one of the sexiest PDA phones that you have ever come across. The size of the screen is astounding and the features mind blowing. The display is 3.7 inches in size and has a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. The chief advantage of having a Windows based phone is of course that you get one of the best pocket browsers (Pocket Internet Explorer). Besides you get support for Word, Excel, Powerpoint all built in without the need for any third party clients. Media files can be played on the Windows Media player 10

The handset / PDA seems to have it all when it comes to connectivity and organising features. Wifi (802.11b) ; USB and Bluetooth. For memory , there is a mini SD card slot. There is a 1.3 megapixel at the back of the handset with a maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels (SXGA). Videos that are shot by the camera are stored in the WMV format. The latest Willcom device will even feature a full QWERTY keypad for e-mailing and editing documents. This 220 gram baby has dimensions of 70 × 130 × 26 mm and looks set to become a big hit." The "Nixie Watch" By David Forbes

"David Forbes has created the smallest Nixie watch I've ever stumbled across. In true DIY engineer style, he built his little contraption around a Microchip PIC controller..He claims that two CR2 batteries will power this thing for four months, although it functions like the LED watches of yore -- press a button to light the display. Available as a limited edition for $395.

I've mentioned Nixies before; here's my "standard" description of these little critters: Nixies are neon-filled glass tubes that were often used to display numeric information in the days before LCDs and LEDs. They usually contain ten cathodes in the shape of the numbers 0 through 9, and a wire mesh anode. When electricity is passed between one of the cathodes and the anode, the corresponding number shines with an odd orangey-red glow. Be sure to check out Forbes' Nixie Watch Story for a fascinating look at the development of this unique watch.." [Via cathodecorner.com]

The PimpWiz.com Botttom Line: The jury is still out on this watch being cool. It could go either way. What do you think?

Minx of the Month - Ana Beatriz Barros

" Birth Date: May 29, 1982
Birth Place: Itabira, Brazil

Ana Beatriz Barros was born in Itabira, a tiny town in Brazil, on May 29, 1982.

Ana was raised in the cosmopolitan Rio de Janeiro after her family moved there. The hazel-eyed statuesque beauty was discovered by the Director of Elite Model Management, while vacationing in Brazil.

It didn't take much for him to see that she was absolute model material, and he encouraged her to enter the Elite Look of the Year contest. ...Ana Beatriz Barros bio »"Via moono.com]

"why we like her?
For those who believe in life after death, Ana Beatriz Barros is like a sneak peak at what that world would look like. Put it this way; it takes an incredible woman to get us to talk about spirituality, and it looks like we just did. Enough said.

why is she famous?
She was one of the top models for Guess?, and has made it onto several magazine covers over the last year.

Ana Beatriz Barros continues the fine tradition of Brazilian bombshells -- that country has seemingly been producing factory-style babes over the last few years (something had to be produced in Brazil after they shut down the last VW Beetle factory). Like her compatriots Gisele Bundchen, Tiazinha and Alessandra Ambrosio, Ana is a walking statue, and at 5'11", oh what a statue she is." [Via askmen.com]

**Exclusive** The New Disease - "Internet Addiction"

The New Disease - "Internet Addiction" By, JK
Edited by, Lauren Weiss

In the early 90's if a guy wanted to gamble on blackjack or poker, but the closest casino was 2 hours away in Atlantic City, and he couldn't convince his friends to jump on the slow-moving, retirement home infested “party-bus” to get out and gamble, he was stuck at home playing solitaire off his start-menu programs, watching “Celebrity Poker” and calling it a night.

In 2005, that same guy doesn’t even need a friend, or a bus to any flashy city to gamble. He just needs to click on his desktop shortcut and can go to partypoker.com, or any of the millions of gambling sites online. Four clicks and he is sitting in his desk chair, but at a virtual poker table, in his own personal casino. He has discovered what many Americans are realizing. We live in a culture of accessibility, whose muse has become the internet, and that is the catalyst for the rapid rise and infestation of the new disease consuming a consumerist nation-internet addiction.

The Internet was created as a new way of communicating secure messages for the military. It quickly thereafter went on to become a new learning and communication medium for the masses. Naturally, as anything that reaches the public, it then was exploited thru every facet imaginable, and thus was born the fanatic activities of online "gambling, gaming and pornography."

"Gambling, gaming and pornography" on the internet is big business, and it is THE business. It is so big in fact, that it out-performs football, baseball and basketball combined in revenue. The Internet makes everything easier to access, and so we are caught in the dichotomy and ironic dilemma where we can get information that can be ultimately act as beneficial or morally decaying.

It seems that popular culture has been overtaken by a world of virtual addicts. The internet is accessible, free and expands our realm of knowledge and entertainment, BUT there is a price to pay for being enveloped by this new digital trend, an opportunity cost if you will. The cost of not doing something beneficial like meeting new people, reading, working to create art or music, "gettin busy" with a human being (in person), educating yourself, etc. The challenge is to use the internet (as amusement in particular) in moderation. As soon as it becomes an addiction it becomes like any other disease, or "an impairment of the normal state of the living animal or one of its parts that interrupts or modifies the performance of the vital functions." {Via Dictionary.com}

Internet addiction is quickly becoming a scientifically recognized illness. "Mental health professionals who support the diagnosis of Internet addiction say, a majority of obsessive users are online to further addictions to gambling or pornography or have become much more dependent on those vices because of their prevalence on the Internet." [Via indiatimes.com]

And what better way to perpetuate an addiction then to continue to not be a part of the non-addiction, non-internet life. Once isolated and on a digital island in their living room, it is difficult to return and acclimate to the “real” world. Addictions are fueled not only by access, but by fear as well. We can only assume that in being that dependent on a form of technology, will in time make you less reliant, and less interested in the human form and what was once known as "interpersonal relationships."

This subject matter has become so huge that MSNBC.com has launched a massive Internet advertising campaign. They are promoting a special day of TV programming taking place on Wednesday, December 14th. The day is unofficially called "Digital Day" and will feature special on-air programming, an on-air blogger, and interaction with bloggers throughout the day to get the digital age's version of the "Man on the street" [Via PimpWiz.com]

The Best Restaurant in Miami - The Forge

"From the moment you pull up, you can’t help but notice the flock of Rolls Royce’s and Porsche’s outside the faux castle frontage perched on conservative 41st Street. The Forge is one of the most visually surreal sites in South Beach, the hedonistic capital of Miami. Right out of an 80’s mobster flick, this garish place is brimming with decadently large parties of wealthy families, local politicians, and a new breed of sleek South Beach social climbers.

Some come to savor the acclaimed "Supersteak", others come to dine on less indulgent items such as The Forge’s fabulous stone crabs or other seafood specialties. It’s a steakhouse, though, and the inebriated crowd can attest to the fact that this is not the place to exercise moderate living. If blatant intoxication isn’t your thing, The Forge also boasts one of the city’s most impressive extensive wine lists, with spectacular selections by the glass. The adjacent Café Nostalgia is jumping late into the night with awesome Latin rhythms, while Jimmy’z, just to the north is The Forge’s place to luxuriate with a cognac and a cigar till dawn.[Via southbeach-usa.com]

Thinking Outside the Box Office with Steven Soderbergh

By: Xeni Jardin
"Director Steven Soderbergh talks about the copyright cops, the remixing underground, and why he'll debut his new movie on DVD, cable, and in theaters all at once. When Steven Soderbergh releases his next film on January 27, it will have not only the critics squawking, but Hollywood studio execs, too. Bubble, an all-digital thriller, is set in an Ohio doll factory, and all of the actors are completely unknown. But that's not even the interesting part. The movie goes out to theaters, DVD, and high-definition cable TV - all on the same day. It's an experiment that threatens to uproot the film industry's long-standing "release window" formula, which staggers a picture's release on various platforms to maximize profits. Wired caught up with Soderbergh, director of sex, lies, and videotape, Traffic, and Ocean's Eleven, while he was in Los Angeles shooting The Good German, with George Clooney and Cate Blanchett.

WIRED: Why did you decide to release Bubble in all formats at once?

SODERBERGH: Name any big-title movie that's come out in the last four years. It has been available in all formats on the day of release. It's called piracy. Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings, Ocean's Eleven, and Ocean's Twelve - I saw them on Canal Street on opening day. Simultaneous release is already here. We're just trying to gain control over it.

So this is a way to combat piracy?
It can be. Warner Bros. has talked about going out with low-cost DVDs simultaneously in China because piracy is so huge there. It will be a while before bigger movies go out in all formats; in five years, everything will." [Via Wired.com]

About Soderbergh
"Steven Soderbergh has made a name for himself with many celebrity-stacked, off-beat productions like his break-out film, Sex, Lies, and Videotape. Perhaps Soderbergh's crowning achievement thus far was his acclaimed drug war film, Traffic, which was based on the award-winning British TV series, Traffik. The film won him the Best Director Oscar, and won star Benicio Del Toro (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas) the Best Supporting Actor award for his portrayal of tortured Mexican cop Javier Rodriguez Rodriguez."[Via cannabisculture.com]

Comedian Richard Pryor dies at 65

"(CNN) -- Just days after his 65th birthday, groundbreaking comedian Richard Pryor died Saturday of a heart attack, his wife told CNN.

Pryor, who had been ill with multiple sclerosis, died at Encino Hospital near Los Angeles at 7:58 a.m. PT. Jennifer Lee Pryor tried to revive him at their home before paramedics arrived and took him to the hospital, she said.

"He enjoyed life right up until the end," she said, adding that Pryor had been laughing a lot and was in good spirits in the two weeks preceding his death. "At the end, there was a smile on his face."

Jennifer Lee and Richard remarried in June 2001, 19 years after they divorced.

Born Richard Franklin Lennox Thomas Pryor in Peoria, Illinois, on December 1, 1940, the funnyman had long suffered from health problems at the time of his death. In addition to his multiple sclerosis diagnosis in 1986, he suffered a massive heart attack and underwent triple-bypass surgery in 1990. (Watch Larry King interview Pryor -- 3:36)

Pryor was known for his raunchy stand-up comedy and a variety of acting roles, including in "Superman III," "The Toy" and "Harlem Nights," in which he starred with his comedic predecessor, Redd Foxx, and his heir apparent, Eddie Murphy." [Via cnn.com]

Cult of Mac blogger, Leander Kahney, is reporting that Public Domain Torrents has more than 500 public-domain flicks -- including cult classics like Night of the Living Dead.

"There's a lot of silent-era stuff, but also a rich vein of kitsch trash, including clunkers from Ed Wood (Plan 9 from Outer Space), George Romero (Night of the Living Dead) and a Russian psychotronic/cult sci-fi oddity called Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women."

Leander felt that the IMDB.com review for King of Kong Island was a good example of what you should expect from these movies:
An Italian Spanish Co-production with America's own Dick Randall involved in the 'presenting' - King of Kong Island mixes horror movie, nudie-cutie and jungle adventure with toppings of National Geographic stock footage- all set to a jungle beat of exotica..

"South Florida Condo Flipping" By, James "Gus" Moore

"The quick buying and selling of real estate is often called “flipping.”

Some real estate experts have compared the frenzy of condo flipping to the late 1990’s when investors were busy buying and selling dot-com stocks.Miami has one of the most active markets in the country for flipping, because so many condo units are under construction or in the planning stages.

Flipping real estate contracts can bring quick bucks, but here is the rub: profits are taxed as ordinary income, not as capital gains, if the buyer’s contract is not held for at least one year.

Most developers open resale offices to help buyers sell their units. They sometimes turn a blind eye to owners flipping because they rely on pre construction sales to secure financing. Lenders often require having a certain percentage of units pre-sold before issuing the money needed to build a project.

Some developers are becoming more cautious. To avoid flipping, many force buyers to close on the condo or face penalties.

However, investors and real estate agents have been able to get around many developer roadblocks by purchasing condo units under the names of other family members or friends.

Also, condo flips never appear in the public record because it is done through selling contracts during construction.

Some are speculating that investors who sink all their money. into pre construction will be the ones who will lose the most money when the market is flooded with thousands of condo units in the next few years. Many may default on their mortgages or sell for a loss.

Experts are saying that if the market declines, Miami may again be at the center of a condo bust. There are more than 64,000 condo units under construction or in the planning stages, according to the city’s monthly development report. There were 11,000 units under construction, 23,000 approved and 30,000 in the preliminary or application phase.

Fort Lauderdale has 6,000 new condos planned for its downtown and West Palm Beach will add 6,000 new units to their downtown and along the Flagler corridor. Also, apartment buildings being converted to condominiums will add thousands more units to the South Florida condo market[Via miamibeach411.com]

The PimpWiz.com Bottom Line: Only time will tell what happen in South Florida but right now people are making bank roll down there and have been for years. Get in on the flipping while the flipping good! We are ;-()

"Chromeo" - Blazin' Fire Music Pick!

"Crossing the Gaza Strip of Sexxx Jams Chromeo is Pee Thug and Dave 1: best friends since their Montreal adolescence, virtuoso musicians, walking hip hop encyclopedias, and the only successful Arab/Jew partnership since the dawn of human culture.

As Chromeo, they fuse their penchants for two sorely missed musical genres into a wholly new thing. Pee, the brown-skinned Quebecois street tough, brings analog synth basslines and drum machine wizardry à la Cameo and Prince. Dave, the Semitic bookworm (currently earning his Ph.D. in French Lit at Columbia), contributes melodic tales of urban romance that would make Phil Collins shed a tear. Together, their blend of rigorously catchy song structures, memorable hooks and twirling guitar solos conjures up images of a sophisticated, thugged-out Hall & Oates.

Live, Chromeo is more fun than being forced to smoke crack at gunpoint by Rick James. When was the last time you saw a talkbox used so well? Or even at all? Peter Frampton? Says Pee: “When people see me using the talkbox live they’re always impressed. It’s not a machine like you hear in that Cher song. Imagine taking a speaker and putting it in your mouth, and then forcing the sound to come back out. It truly is a skill.”

Chromeo's debut LP, She's In Control, is out now on Vice Records (US), Turbo Recordings (Canada), V2 (Europe), and Modular People (Australia). The duo is now taking their live incarnation on the road. All this time, Dave has only had one specific ambition in mind for Chromeo.“I want to write sincere love songs, like ‘Cool It Now’ by New Edition,” he says. “That is one of my all-time favorite tracks in the universe." The PimpWiz.com Bottom Line: Chromeo, They're So Hot Right Now!
Check out this video of the track ,Needy Girl

We strongly recommend "Your so Gansta" , "Needy Girl" and "Ah Oui Comme Ca". It's like being at the hottest funk/dance club in south beach in the 80's.
