"Google co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page each saw his net worth jump $875 million yesterday — to a whopping $6.5 billion apiece — after Google, the most popular online search engine, reported blowout results.

Google's already skyrocketing share price surged another 15 percent yesterday to close at $172.43 in Nasdaq trading. Earlier in the day, the stock jumped as much as 21 percent.

The stock has more than doubled since August, when the company first sold shares at $85 through an unusual auction-style IPO.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Chris Rock has been chosen to host the 77th annual Academy Awards, the film industry's highest honors, next February, the producer of the show said on Thursday as he reached out to a younger generation of comedians.

It will be the first time that Rock, a former "Saturday Night Live" cast member who made his film debut in "Beverly Hills Cop II," will host the show watched by millions around the world. He will succeed veteran Oscar emcee Billy Crystal, who hosted the awards show earlier this year.

Irish screen star Colin Farrell is in line to play the part of Detective James “Sonny” Crockett in the movie of the 1980s cop classic, Miami Vice.

Universal is in talks with Farrell and Jamie Foxx, who is being targeted to play Detective Ricardo Tubbs, according to Hollywood trade paper, Variety.

The film could even pave the way for the show to return to the small screen.

Miami Vice followed the lives of the two detectives from the Miami Police Department’s vice squad."

``I've decided what my future is,'' Stern told his millions of listeners in announcing his five-year, multimillion-dollar contract. ``It's not this kind of radio any more.''

Stern, who battled for years with the FCC and conservative critics over his salacious show's content, will move to the national distributor of commercial-free music and sport programming when his contract with Infinity Broadcasting expires in 15 months. The deal will allow him to reach every market in the country.
