When I am discussing the news with the few coworkers who have an actual interest in current events I find it funny how coworkers who are not involved in our conversation will chime in with “how do you find time to follow this?” As soon as it comes to some silly celebrity gossip story such as this depressing story about Britney Spears, they wake from their current events nap I prefer to call apathy. The people who can’t be bothered to follow current events can tell you every detail about Britney or OJ. The People who once built up Britney Spears are so happy to tear her down. Instead of showing an ounce of concern they sit, watch & can’t get enough of the car crash, I guess that is the American way. As for myself I am a punk rocker who could give a flying f-bomb about celebrity gossip but with the current condition of our major news outlets it’s hard to avoid it. I think people really need to get a clue because there are things in the world that affect your life to be worried about. I’m sure the governments & the corporations of the world are thrilled that people are paying so much attention to the Britney Spears situation because it makes getting away with murder that much more easy.
