Big Business on MySpace
Today, MySpace is not just a place for friends anymore, but a place where companies can reach out to an audience of over a million users who all utilize the internet’s largest online community everyday. Because there is such a large diversity on MySpace, companies see a huge potential in the marketing capabilities MySpace can provide to them and more and more are benefiting from this on a daily basis. Some companies may wonder why this would be such a big benefit when they already have a website, and the main reason is networking.MySpace is not just a place to display information, but a place where people can communicate and interact with each other and therefore market themselves to the vast array of users. One web design firm who has taken advantage of this new opportunity is South Florida based Daddy Design who is offering MySpace design services to businesses who want to integrate themselves into the online marketing network. We had the chance to sit down with the owner, founder and creator of the famous “Rapping Barney Tupac” video to discuss just why MySpace is such a large area for marketing and how it works.
PW: Why do you think many web design companies are not offering MySpace design services yet?
Ryan Steinhardt: The answer is simple, they are just overlooking the huge potential that MySpace design can bring to a company, they feel it is not worth it for them to offer to their prospective clients. Also MySpace design is not a simple design, it is a very complex type of coding and design that has to be exactly right for certain aspects to work properly with each other.
PW: Do you think a MySpace page is as important as a standard web site?
Ryan Steinhardt: A MySpace page has a greater impact and ability to grab the attention of the end user then a regular website would have. One reason is that for somebody to find your website they either have to search for your company or be directed to it by marketing. With MySpace you will have tons of people accidentally find your company by mistake and the potential for new customers is much greater.
PW: So are you saying companies don’t even need to bother with a standard website anymore?
Ryan Steinhardt: No, what I’m saying is that in conjunction with a standard website, MySpace adds a whole new level to your marketing ability. With people finding you on accident they may want to learn more and then visit your website, so MySpace is basically another way to gain new visitors, rather than relying on the search engines to do the job for you.
PW: I’m sure that our readers are interested in this next question, how much does a MySpace page usually cost?
Ryan Steinhardt: Well that depends on what the client is looking for. We offer 3 different types of MySpace Design. The first type is very basic and involves changing colors and adding background to your page and adding your logo with links to your website, this is our cheapest package and it will cost around $200 usd. The second type is a lil more complex then the first type and the end result is much more noticeable and will typically run around $500 usd. The third type is the most complex type and will completely change the look of the MySpace page and this style can start anywhere around $1,500 on up. I hope that it helps more people understand how important MySpace is becoming.
