Total Request Live may not be the most happening music show on the airwaves, but VJ Vanessa Minnillo gives any red blooded male a reason to watch. This 24 year old former beauty queen is using the TRL spark and branching out to quickly becoming more than just an MTV video jockey.

Vanessa was born on an air force base in the Philippines, and spent her younger years changing schools and locations frequently, including living in Turkey for a while. At the age of 11 she was finally able to settle down and focus on her dreams of stardom. During her teen years she used her good looks and undeniable charm to take the title of Miss Teen South Carolina, and eventually Miss Teen USA. She not only won the crown, but also the award for Miss Congeniality, showing she not only has the face and the body, but also a personality to die for.

Unfortunately, the Hollywood rarely welcomes beauty queens with open arms. Vanessa got a taste of this when she competed for the job of host of the E! Entertainment series Wild On, but ultimately fell short. However, there were bigger things in her future. In 2003, just few years after her first attempt to transition into television, Vanessa beat the odds when she landed her current job as a co-host on TRL, the gig that made her gorgeous face recognizable in homes across America.

In the three years since Vanessa started on MTV she's also landed a gig with Entertainment Tonight and has been honored with a coveted slot on Maxim's Hot 100, coming in at #15. Her relationship with pop/R&B singer Nick Lachey have catapulted her star status, and at this rate she can only continue on the up and up. But for now, she's already achieved what Carson Daly could only dream of.
