International Contemporary Furniture Fair
"More than 21,000 interior designers, architects, retailers, and others in the home design trade will arrive in Manhattan later this month for the 18th edition of the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF). The Jacob K. Javits Convention Center will host the event from May 20 through 23. (ICFF will open to the public on May 23.) The ICFF’s popularity prompted some furniture makers to present events that coincided with the fair, and over time, these festivities evolved into Design Week, an annual showcase for home-related products.
This year, Poliform USA, an importer and distributor of Italian furniture, scheduled the debut of its store in Manhattan’s Architects & Designers (A&D) Building for May 22, during the ICFF show and Design Week. Previously, Poliform USA occupied three different spaces on three different levels of the building, which is located on 150 East 58th St. between Lexington and Third Avenues; it now will assume the entire sixth floor, spreading its wares over 17,000 square feet.
Each of the building’s more than two dozen showrooms will remain open for the evening of this by-invitation-only event.—Sheila Gibson Stoodley
