"Thank You For Smoking" Movie Review
"Nick Naylor doesn't hide the truth…he filters it."What happens when a powerful subject is flipped on its backside and hung upside down? Something refreshingly exhilarating. Thank You For Smoking, directed by Jason Reitman, the son of genius director, Ivan
Reitman, takes an interesting spin on a subject that has been overwhelmingly depressing.
The sardonic comedy follows the scheming of Big Tobacco's chief spokesman, Nick Naylor, played by Aaron Eckhart, who is quoted as being, "The Sultan of Spin," based on his uncanny ability to turn a problem into a solution. During the movie, Nick Naylor, the cigarette lobbyist, attempts to remain a role model for his twelve-year old son. Naylor is the king of talk and it shows in this 90-minute catalog on how cigarette smoking has consistently shielded itself from the truth. In a world that constantly creates new laws and regulations, this movie goes into depth (without really trying too hard), as to how simple it is to make all that's wrong, feel so right..
This movie will catch fire. The fact that it hasn't yet surprises me. Anybody who can appreciate great acting, innovative cinematography and a witty plot, should run to the theaters." [Via PimpWiz.com]
