"Proving that we are assuredly moving towards a Star Trek future where one little widget will be a single solution to all our media recording and data transfer needs, the new Sony Cyber-Shot DSC is a pretty close to all-in-one digital photography and digital video camera. The camera is a more refined version of the company's 2004 camera-camcorder hybrid, featuring a sleeker design and loads of new features. An extensive review is available over at www.dcresource.com, and the reviewer, Editor Jeff Keller, pretty candidly dissects the features and capabilities of the new device. Although he cites the camera as "difficult to hold and operate" and gives due warning about some less than stellar features (namely a weak flash and poor quality, Windows-only picture management software, short battery life) he still gives the newer, more streamlined design credit as an improvement over the earlier DCS-M1 and commends the photo quality as "very good." With a $500 retail price tag you ought to have a fair assessment of what you're getting." [
