The Best Restaurant in Miami - The Forge
"From the moment you pull up, you can’t help but notice the flock of Rolls Royce’s and Porsche’s outside the faux castle frontage perched on conservative 41st Street. The Forge is one of the most visually surreal sites in South Beach, the hedonistic capital of Miami. Right out of an 80’s mobster flick, this garish place is brimming with decadently large parties of wealthy families, local politicians, and a new breed of sleek South Beach social climbers. Some come to savor the acclaimed "Supersteak", others come to dine on less indulgent items such as The Forge’s fabulous stone crabs or other seafood specialties. It’s a steakhouse, though, and the inebriated crowd can attest to the fact that this is not the place to exercise moderate living.
If blatant intoxication isn’t your thing, The Forge also boasts one of the city’s most impressive extensive wine lists, with spectacular selections by the glass. The adjacent Café Nostalgia is jumping late into the night with awesome Latin rhythms, while Jimmy’z, just to the north is The Forge’s place to luxuriate with a cognac and a cigar till dawn.[Via southbeach-usa.com]The Forge

Miami's well known for its ethnic diversity and the dining choices in our fair city reflect that multiculturalism. From fine steaks to greasy hamburgers to authentic Cuban specialties, you’ll find it somewhere in Dade County. Below, you’ll find ten of the best spots in town to grab a bite to eat, but they’re only a starting point in your exploration of Miami’s cuisine.
1) Wolfie Cohen's Rascal House
Rascal House has been a Miami Beach institution since 1954. No visit to Miami is complete without a stop at Wolfie's place for (at a minimum!) a bagel, corned beef sandwich and a healthy sized piece of cheesecake. Beware -- Rascal House does not take reservations and the legendary lines stretch around the corner into the rear parking lot on even the slowest nights.
2) Porcao
This authentic Brazilian steakhouse prepares some of the finest meat dishes Miami has to offer. Their slogan – “Vegetarians Beware!” – is quite fitting! Be sure to stop by on a Saturday night for the Feijoada dish or sample the Rodizio buffet of appetizers, salads, seafood, sushi and meat!
3) Joe's Stone Crabs
If you find yourself in South Florida during stone crab season (October 15th - May 15th), a stop at Joe's Stone Crabs on South Beach is absolutely mandatory! This former lunch counter opened in 1913 and claims to be the original discoverer of the delicious stone crab.
4) Tobacco Road
Another old-time favorite, Tobacco Road was established in 1912 and has a somewhat shady history of run-ins with local law enforcement authorities. That said, it's the absolute best place in town to find a huge greasy hamburger and you're liable to hear some of the best live blues music in the country while you're dining.
5) Cafe Prima Pasta
This acclaimed Italian restaurant frequently wins top billing from a variety of Miami restaurant polls. Visit their Miami Beach location and you're bound to find some sumptuous homemade pasta, chicken and veal dishes.
6) Shorty's Bar-B-Q
Shorty's is not a fancy place. However, if you don't mind a few splinters in your rear and a roll of paper towels to wipe your mouth with, you'll find the best bar-b-q in South Florida at amazingly low prices! The original Shorty's on U.S. 1 opened in 1951 and is joined by more recent openings in West Dade and Broward.
7) Versailles
This authentic Cuban restaurant on Calle Ocho serves a variety of Latin specialties until the wee hours of the morning -- they generally only close for a few hours to clean and restock. Be sure to top off your meal with a fresh cafe cubano!
8) Capital Grille
Ranked by the Zagat's survey as one of the top ten steakhouses, the Capital Grille offers delicious steaks and a celebrated wine list to discerning patrons. They're located in the heart of downtown right near the Brickell Bridge.
9) Azul
Azul's cuisine may leave something to be desired, but they more than make up for it with one of the city's best wine lists and a breathtaking view of Biscayne Bay. It's located inside the Mandarin Oriental hotel on Brickell Key.
10) Tropical Chinese
Tropical Chinese is the real deal! This South Florida tradition offers authentic Chinese cuisine, including a popular Sunday afternoon dim sum.
