Harlem Diplomat, Cam’ron, Shot In Failed Carjacking Attempt

Cam’ron, the Harlem rapper and CEO of Diplomat Records, was in the nation’s capital, Washington D.C., this weekend for a performance at Howard University’s homecoming. Unfortunately, his visit went awry in the early hours of Sunday morning when a failed carjacking attempt resulted in gunfire.
Cam’ron was leaving the popular D.C. nightclub, H20, just after 2 a.m. in his blue Lamborghini en route to Love (formerly, Dream) when an unknown number of men approached him. One eyewitness stated that they were after his Italian sports car as they pulled up next to him in their own vehicle in demand that Cam give his up. The MC, often referred to as Killa Cam, apparently refused to meet their demands and began to get in his car. Several gunshots rang out, shattering glass and striking the rapper.
A couple of sources close to Cam’ron have cited separately that his injuries are not life-threatening. One lead has stated that he was struck twice, once in each arm, and that he remains in good condition at a nearby Washington D.C. hospital. Both police and the hospital refuse to give out any information at this time as an investigation into the circumstance will take place. No arrests have been made as of yet.
