Waking Up to the iPod Alarm Clock

The iPod’s Alarm Clock is nestled among other features like Calendar and Notes under the iPod’s Extras menu. While you may already be familiar with many of the iPod Extras (especially Games), the Alarm Clock is largely an under appreciated feature.

Whether you prefer to be woken by the scream of a rock star or the French horn in a classical symphony, the iPod’s Alarm Clock can help you open your eyes every morning with style!

Pimpin' Thoughts:

i love the wake up song suggestions. what about "Good Morning Aztlan" by Los Lobos or "Morning Glory" by Oasis. I saw Oasis a few years ago in the UK. It was a great show.

You guys should add those songs to your site.

shut up with the los lobos crap. i'll fall back asleep. you need to wake the f*** up with D12's "6 in the morning"

The iPod's built-in alarm sound is short and quiet, but it does work with no speakers attached--if you're a light sleeper!

This is why I want a top-mounted mini-speaker that runs without batteries. The cheap speakers that came with my eMachines have NO power source--they just play the signal coming down the wire, like headphones without a strap! But they're surprisingly loud, given then. Not good, but loud enough to wake by, and to fill a small room with music. And my iPod Photo can drive them for hours.

So I want the same from an iPod speaker/pair: a single unit that snaps on like an iTrip. Several exist already, but they all require batteries.

Very cool tip. Plan to make much use of this feature.

μισώ iPod μου. Τον έριξα χτες τη νύχτα.

thanking to you

I like the idea of an iPod alarm clock, but Apple needs to add a snooze function. Also, it would be nice to make it shuffle your wake-up playlist without having to set the global "shuffle songs" function on.

It would be nice if this actually worked. With version 2.2 of the iPod software, the only option for alarm sound is "beep", even if you have a playlist set up. Turning the wheel at the sound-selection menu does nothing, and pressing the center button just takes you back up one menu level.

Pitiful.
